The most beautiful wedding venues in Provence

Why get married in Provence?
Provence is one of the world's most sought-after wedding destinations. And for good reason: exceptional light, diverse landscapes, and venues that blend authentic charm with elegance. As a wedding photographer based in the region, I've had the privilege of working at dozens of different venues, and I can tell you that each one has its own personality, light, and atmosphere.
This guide isn't a ranking. It's a sincere selection based on my field experience: venues where the light is most beautiful, where couples feel at ease, and where photographs naturally tell a story.
Exceptional châteaux and estates
Château de Tourreau, Sarrians
Château de Tourreau is one of the most photographed venues in Provence, and for good reason. Its classical façade, French gardens, and plane tree-lined drive offer a setting of rare elegance. The light is spectacular in late afternoon, when the sun filters through the centuries-old trees.
What I love: the inner courtyard for ceremonies, the terrace for cocktails, and the golden light that floods the gardens around 6pm.
Bastide de Puget, Luberon
Perched in the Luberon, Bastide de Puget offers breathtaking views over the Provençal hills. It's an intimate venue, full of charm, with golden stone walls and Mediterranean gardens. Ideal for weddings of 80 to 150 guests.
What I love: the contrast between warm stone and greenery, olive trees in the background, and the absolute tranquility of the setting.
Château Martinay, Carpentras
A wine estate with understated charm, endless vineyard views, and a tastefully restored bastide. Château Martinay offers a relaxed, authentic atmosphere, far from overly polished settings.
What I love: the vines as a backdrop for couple portraits, the chic countryside feel, and the late-day light over the hillsides.
Wine estates
Provence is a land of vineyards, and many wine estates open their doors for weddings. The advantage: a magnificent natural setting, often with open views, and a convivial atmosphere centered around wine.
Among my favorites: estates around Aix-en-Provence, where the light is constant and generous, and properties in the Luberon, where each season offers a different color palette.
Bastides and Provençal farmhouses
For couples seeking authenticity, bastides and Provençal farmhouses are an ideal choice. Stone walls, blue shutters, lavender gardens, shaded terraces, this is Provence as you imagine it, and it's a joy to photograph.
These venues are often more intimate, perfect for weddings of 50 to 100 guests. The atmosphere is warm, familial, and the photographs have a natural, timeless quality.
The role of light in choosing your venue
As a photographer, light is my number one criterion. A venue can look stunning on Instagram but offer challenging light at certain hours. That's why I always recommend a venue visit before the wedding, to identify the best angles, the best times, and plan a timeline that makes the most of natural light.
In Provence, the light is an extraordinary asset: golden in the morning, intense at midday, enveloping in late afternoon. West-facing venues offer the most beautiful sunsets for couple portraits.
How to choose your wedding venue in Provence
A few questions to ask yourself: how many guests? What style of celebration, intimate or grand? Indoor or outdoor? On-site accommodation? Budget? And above all: what makes your heart sing when you imagine your day?
If you'd like personalized recommendations, don't hesitate to get in touch. After several years photographing weddings in the region, I know the venues well and would be happy to guide you based on your project.
