About

Mathieu Pasques, wedding photographer in Provence

Based in Provence, I photograph an intimate fifteen-guest wedding the same way I photograph a three-day celebration in a Luberon château. The scale changes, the method doesn't.

I watch the light, the rhythm of the day, how people behave around each other. That's what, put together, gives a reportage that looks like your wedding, not a staged version of it.

I've photographed in most of the region's major venues. I know their quirks, access roads, light timings, backup rooms in case of a storm, and I talk through them with you before the day itself.

Wedding Photographer Provence

Wedding photographer in Provence: a Fine Art vision

I'm a wedding photographer based in Aix-en-Provence, working in a Fine Art and editorial style. My conviction is simple: a wedding photograph should still look good in twenty years, not just on Instagram this year. I work with Provence's natural light and the visual language of fashion photography, no trendy filters, no heavy retouching.

I primarily work in Aix-en-Provence, the Luberon, the Alpilles, Avignon, Marseille, and along the French Riviera, but also elsewhere in France and abroad for destination weddings. A vineyard estate in the Var doesn't set the same pace as a hilltop bastide facing Mont Ventoux. I adapt to the venue, never the other way around.

I don't just document a day, I tell its story. Each reportage blends carefully composed portraits, inspired by editorial work, with candid moments caught as they happen. The getting ready, the ceremony, a glance during the cocktail hour, the dance floor at midnight: nothing gets staged twice, it all plays out in real time.

What matters most for a wedding photographer in Provence is knowing this light hour by hour. In July, it's harsh at 2pm and stunning by 7:30pm. After years working across the region, I know exactly where to stand, whether that's a lavender field in Valensole, under the plane trees of a bastide courtyard, or facing the sunset over the Alpilles.

Looking for a wedding photographer in Provence for a discreet reportage, without forced posing? Get in touch, I'll reply with availability and pricing within 48 hours.

The reportage

A complete and honest wedding reportage

A wedding reportage is not just a series of couple portraits. It tells the story of an entire day, with its highlights, quieter moments, and all the people who make it up.

The attention paid to exchanges, gestures and the overall atmosphere creates a faithful reading of the day. It is these images, placed end to end, that give meaning to the reportage over time.

On the wedding day, the approach remains discreet and attentive. The goal is to let the day unfold naturally while being present for the moments that matter. Exchanges, glances and the atmosphere are photographed with care.

After the wedding, a coherent selection of images is delivered through a private online gallery. Photos can then be collected in an album, designed as a lasting object to browse through over the years.
