Luxury Wedding Shoot at Oka Abbey, Fine Art Inspiration in Quebec

A luxury inspiration shoot in a Cistercian monastery
Oka Abbey is one of those places that command silence the moment you step inside. Founded by Cistercian monks, this abbey on the shores of Lac des Deux Montagnes in the Laurentians carries decades of history and contemplation within its walls. Its stone walls, majestic vaults and light-filled cloisters make it a setting of rare power for a wedding inspiration shoot.
This project was imagined in collaboration with wedding planner Cherry Me, who transformed this history-laden space into a scene of opulent romance. The idea: to explore luxury weddings in a setting unlike any other, where architectural grandeur meets modern, confident sophistication.

Spectacular floral compositions
The floral arrangements by Florivy Art Floral match the grandeur of the venue. Generous compositions, rich textures, imposing volumes, each floral creation dialogues with the abbey's architecture without ever competing with it. Vibrant touches of colour warm the stone and create a striking contrast between the sacred and the romantic.

Elegance and refinement: bride and groom
The wedding dress, selected by Espace Blanc de Blancs, embodies an elegance that is both classic and contemporary, clean lines, noble fabric, a perfect drape. PM Atelier jewellery adds a subtle, precious touch of light. The beauty look, created by Catherine Laniel for makeup and Hair by Alexe for styling, completes this vision of a bride who is sophisticated and natural at once.

Stationery and table details
Every element of the staging was designed to tell the same story. The stationery, created by Lily and Colors, brings an artisanal and delicate touch, careful calligraphy, noble textures, a harmonious palette. The table design by La Nouvelle Tablee blends refined tableware with floral compositions, creating a reception atmosphere that is both intimate and grand.

The wedding cake
The cake by Henriette Desserts extends the luxurious, refined aesthetic of the entire shoot. A work of pastry art that integrates naturally into the staging, like a decorative element in its own right.

Couple session in the cloisters
The cloisters of Oka Abbey offer an incomparable setting for the couple session. Light filters through stone arches, casting soft shadows and natural contrasts. It is in this suspended atmosphere, between sacred and secular, that the images find their full strength.

Why Oka Abbey is a unique wedding venue
Oka Abbey is not an ordinary wedding venue. It is a monument steeped in history, a space where the sacred and the beautiful naturally coexist. Located in Oka, in the Laurentians, less than an hour from Montreal, it offers a setting that is both grand and intimate, a rare combination.
For a Fine Art wedding photographer, it is a venue that speaks for itself. The stone tells stories, the light sculpts, the silence envelops. All that remains is to observe and capture what unfolds, with the precision and delicacy these walls demand.
This shoot was featured in FOUR Wedding Magazine.
