Manoir Davis Inspiration Shoot, Romantic Fine Art Elopement in the Laurentians

An exceptional venue for a Fine Art elopement in Quebec
Manoir Davis stands in the heart of the Laurentians, in Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts, just one hour's drive from Montreal. With its 19th-century architecture, period woodwork and preserved gardens, this estate offers a rare setting for an intimate wedding or a romantic elopement. It was here, in this atmosphere suspended between history and nature, that we imagined this Fine Art inspiration shoot.
This project was born from a collaboration with wedding planner Hermine Montcerisier. Together, we built every detail to tell a story of elegance and softness, true to our vision of a wedding where nothing is forced, where everything feels right. Mathieu Gimenez, as second photographer, brought his complementary eye to enrich the diversity of the images.

Elegance and refinement: the couple's attire
The groom wears a bespoke black tuxedo by Blandin & Delloye, a classic, timeless silhouette that naturally complements the Manoir's character. The bride is dressed in a delicate Aire Barcelona gown, selected by Maison Ariane Carle, whose clean lines and fluid drape echo the editorial aesthetic we were seeking. The jewellery, crafted by PM Atelier, features fine white pearls that add a luminous touch without ever overdoing it.

A natural, polished beauty look
The low chignon, adorned with a few loose strands, gives a polished yet effortless effect. The makeup, luminous and subtle, blends with the venue's natural light. Every choice was made to enhance without transforming, a principle we uphold in every project.

Modern, airy floral arrangements
The floral compositions, designed for this shoot, play with volume and texture. Both modern and airy, they bring vibrant touches that contrast with the Manoir's hushed atmosphere. Each arrangement was conceived as a narrative element, not merely decorative, serving the story we were telling.

Manoir Davis: a sanctuary of natural light
What makes Manoir Davis so special for photography is the quality of its light. The large windows let in a soft, enveloping glow that sculpts faces and silhouettes with rare delicacy. No artificial lighting is needed here, the light already tells a story. This is precisely what we look for in our Fine Art approach: working with what the venue offers, without forcing anything, staying as close as possible to natural emotion.

The ceremony: a moment of absolute intimacy
An elopement is precisely this: a moment for two, without distraction, where every spoken word truly resonates. Within Manoir Davis, the ceremony takes on an almost cinematic dimension. The light, the architecture, the silence of the gardens, everything converges towards this suspended moment.

Reception details
Every element of the tablescape was chosen to continue the story begun during the ceremony. Calligraphed stationery, refined tableware, table floral composition, a cohesive and delicate staging, typical of a successful Fine Art wedding.

Golden hour in the Laurentians
Late afternoon in the Laurentians offers an incomparable golden light. This is the moment we wait for during the couple session, when the sun drops behind the trees and everything takes on a warm, enveloping hue. These images are often the ones that matter most, the ones you still look at ten or twenty years from now.

Why choose Manoir Davis for a wedding or elopement?
Manoir Davis brings together everything we look for in a wedding venue: authentic architecture, exceptional light, a preserved environment sheltered from city noise, and an ideal capacity for intimate celebrations. Located in Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts in the Laurentians, about one hour from Montreal, it offers the feeling of a journey without the constraints of a distant destination.
Whether you are considering an elopement for two, an intimate family wedding or a larger event, Manoir Davis adapts beautifully. And for a Fine Art wedding photographer, it is an extraordinary playground, every room, every garden corner tells a story.
