Domaine du Bijoutier: a wedding venue near Grignan, Drôme Provençale

Domaine du Bijoutier: a wedding venue near Grignan, Drôme Provençale

Domaine du Bijoutier is a wedding venue near Grignan, in the Drôme Provençale: a small stone hamlet gathered around a manor house, a glass-fronted barn and a pool, surrounded by olive trees and lavender. It hosts up to around 250 guests and can accommodate some of them on site. I visited it in October 2026 for my Wedding Venue Collection, the selection of venues I share in my Instagram story highlights.

Where is Domaine du Bijoutier?

The estate sits at Colombeau, just outside Grignan, in the heart of the Drôme Provençale. Grignan castle is a few minutes away; Montélimar, its train station and the A7 motorway are about 30 minutes away. From the air the place makes sense at once: honey-coloured stone buildings set in a sea of holm oaks, with mountains on the horizon.

What is the estate like?

The arrival sets the tone: a long, pale gravel driveway lined with santolina and olive trees leading to the hamlet. Each part of the day has its own setting.

  • The manor house, with grey shutters, a double stone staircase and a balustrade, facing the pool
  • The glass-fronted barn, an old stone building opened up with large windows, for dinner and the party
  • The hamlet courtyard, with gravel, pale-shuttered farmhouses and wrought-iron terrace furniture
  • The park, its olive trees, including a very old gnarled one, and rows of lavender in front of the farmhouse
  • The guest rooms, styled in a chic vintage spirit: weathered wood, rattan, wicker

Where do the ceremony, drinks and dinner take place?

The park suits an outdoor celebrant-led ceremony among olive trees and lavender. Drinks can be set up in the hamlet courtyard or around the pool. Dinner and the party take place in the barn: its large glass doors open onto the courtyard, so the evening flows between inside and outside, with shelter if the weather turns.

How many guests can it host?

The venue's listings give a capacity of 50 to 250 guests. It works for an intimate wedding as well as a big family celebration, with around 40 parking spaces on site.

Can guests stay on site?

Yes. The hamlet's farmhouses hold guest rooms, so your closest people can stay the night of the wedding and carry on the next day by the pool.

What budget should you plan?

Wedding directories list venue hire from around €4,000, catering not included. Ask the venue for a detailed quote: season, day of the week and number of nights change the total a lot.

A photographer's view of Domaine du Bijoutier

What struck me is how consistent the place is: honey stone, grey shutters, pale gravel and the silver green of the olive trees make a soft palette with no false note. It is ideal ground for bright, natural fine art wedding photography.

  • Getting ready: the rooms and the indoor gallery, with their wood and rattan, give soft, flattering light.
  • Couple portraits: the olive driveway and the lavender rows in front of the farmhouse, in the hour before sunset.
  • Group photo: the manor's double staircase, which naturally tiers everyone.
  • Details: the old olive tree, the rusty sign, the wrought-iron furniture.
